Iautotech is unlike a job placement service or “headhunter”.
Job placement
services and agencies charge the employer a
hefty “finder’s fee”.
A fee of $1500–$3000, or more is not uncommon to place an automotive
technician. If the employee doesn’t work out, the fee that the
employer paid is refunded on a pro-rata basis, usually to the detriment
of the employer.
An
EMPLOYER who registers with Iautotech pays a nominal monthly
subscription fee to be part of
the program and agrees to pay a startup bonus directly to any employee
that they hired who is registered with us.
Simply put, the employee receives the bonus.
How
much is the startup bonus? That is between the shop owner and the
prospective employee. Iautotech only makes recommendations as
to how much the startup bonus should be. Below is a table of what a
prospective employer should be prepared to pay an employee hired through
Iautotech:
|
|
$1000 to $1500 |
- Line Technicians
- Autobody Technicians
- Autobody Painters
|
$1000 to $1500 |
- Service Managers
- Service Advisors
- Parts Managers
|
$750 to $1000 |
- Office Staff
- Apprentice Technicians
- Bookkeepers
|
$250 to $500 |
The
startup bonus may be paid to the employee in one, two, three or more installments as
agreed upon by the employer and employee.
Iautotech
will only make recommendations in this area and will not be a party to
the actual agreement between the employer and the employee.
Typically,
an employee and an employer will know if they are "right for each
other" in 3-6 months. Iautotech
recommends that the employee has been paid the entire agreed upon
startup bonus by the end of the sixth month of employment. Employers
should be prepared to have a written contract with the employee that
clearly specifies the terms under which the startup bonus will be paid.
Employers:
Remember that you may have to pay payroll taxes on the startup bonus
that you give your employee.
